A historical family in Valpolicella, the Speri company is an authoritative and faithful interpreter of Valpolicella Classica wines, it has become, due to its continuity and strong roots in the territory, a reference point for Italian oenology. The company’s story starts in the first half of the 1800 and today the Speri family has reached the seventh generation, with an extension of 60 hectares of vineyards in prime Valpolicella Classica. The strength of the company has always been and still is, team work, which today involves three generations - Carlo, Alberto, Giampaolo, Giampietro, Chiara, Luca e Giuseppe – in the management of all the phases of production, from the vineyards to the bottle. Following years of sustainable agriculture, in 2015 the company obtained Organic Certification for all its production.
In respect for its territory’s heritage, the Speri family has always only cultivated autochthonous vines from Valpolicella (Corvina, Corvinone, Rondinella, Molinara and other indigenous varieties), they make wine exclusively from grapes from their own vineyards and follow the entire production process. They are never seduced by the latest fashions, production is concentrated on five different types of classic wines (exclusively Doc and Docg): the company has maintained their own identity intact, pursuing consistency and integrity, as well as a recognizable style over the years, where elegance and territory are the key words. Again to highlight the peculiarities of each plot, the grapes from each vineyard are vinified separately, creating crus, such as the famous Amarone Classico Vigneto Monte Sant’Urbano, the Valpolicella Classico Superiore Sant’Urbano and the Recioto Classico La Roggia, which get their names from the vineyards of origin.
